Purple Power Foods

Did you know that adding purple to your diet can improve your health? Purple foods are colored by a pigment called anthocyanin, which is a strong and protective antioxidant that can help healthy aging and improve your memory. Purple foods are also packed with flavonoids, which make our blood vessels strong. This translates to a healthy heart and can actually lower your risk of heart disease. So try adding eggplant, purple beans, cabbage, plums and concord grape to your daily diet.

Glutamine - How Much You Should Take for Working Out

Glutamine is the ultimate supplement for the hardcore athlete. In a nutshell, this is what it does:
  • Helps you recover from injury
  • Alternative source of fuel for the brain and helps to block cortisol-induced protein catabolism
  • Aids in immune function by being a precursor for rapidly dividing immune cells
  • Major role in protein synthesis
  • Keeps your body in a more alkaline state by lowering acidity
  • Increase in growth-hormone levels when as little as 2 grams of free-form L-glutamine supplement was consumed

Remember to consult your health care provider before taking any supplementation. When healthy clients of mine are given the green light from their physician, I usually recommend about 3000-7000 grams a day. I usually get the capsules and the powder, the powder goes in the shakes before and after a workout, capsules in the AM and at night in the PM with some ZMA fuel.

Recommendation: Pangea Organics Products

After reading a few articles about body lotions increasing the risk of skin care, I have been on the lookout for a completely natural skin products. So this past Christmas, my sister gave me a gift pack from Pangea Organics and boy do I love this stuff! The Egyptian Basil & Mint body wash lathers like the super-artificial chemical laden brothers you find in your regular drug store. Its smell is stimulating and awakening as advertised. Also included was their Chilean Red Clover w/ Geranium & Grapefruit Body Lotion. Moisturizes without leaving your body super oily, or oily at all for that matter. Call me metrosexual if you want, but its confirmed that girls love the smell of this stuff too. If you are an Old Spice guy, work on a tug-boat, or think American Pie is a good song to make out to, you may want to skip this product.

The company looks solid and I can't wait to try their other products. By no way am I affiliated with them, just passing along some good info. Check them out at http://www.pangeaorganics.com/ or buy online from GreenFinds.
